What's going on?!//QOTM December

Hey everyone!
So I guess I'm not the blog type. It's been two months, again, without a blog post.
I mainly use this blog for my QOTM (Question of the Month).
However, I just realized I forgot to do one for the month of January. Ugh.
But I won't delete this blog. I'll use it for blog posts like this, when I remember or have nothing better to do. I'll also probably transfer my QOTM videos to QOTM posts instead, since I've gotten out of the whole "QOTM & Monthly Favorites Videos Phase". That way, I keep you reading and occupied, and it's a little less stressful for me. (This shouldn't be stressful anyway, it's a hobby, right?)
So thanks for sticking around. I have 60+ followers on here and 200+ followers on Twitter. Also, almost 1,400 subscibers on YouTube. So I really can't complain.
I just recorded a vlog, actually. "Vlog" stands for "Video Log" if you didn't know already, by the way.
It'll be up in a day or two... I'll try to post a link if I remember.

Hey everyone!
So I have lots of updates!
First of all, it's my 16th birthday today! I'm so excited! I can finally get a job and work on getting my license. As far as I know, I'm going for my learner's permit test tomorrow. I've been studying hard, so let's hope I pass!
Also, I haven't been on YouTube much lately since I've been totally revamping/cleaning/organizing my bedroom. But I must say, it's looking terrific. It's almost done. All I have left is the top of my desk and inside my closet. I've done everything else and I couldn't be more pleased with how it's turning out.
Lastly, I added quite a few new products to my website, Lauren Anne Creations last week. They don't seem to be a hit, since I've gotten 0 orders. Maybe you'd like to check everything out?

Update: ELF Order, ULTA, Makeup for a Friend, + MORE!

Hey guys!
So sorry I haven't posted in quite a few weeks.

Anyways, I'll get right to my updates.

So everyone who watches my YouTube videos knows I went to the grand opening of ULTA in North Haven, CT on Friday, July 24, 2009 and it ROCKED! =]

Also, I just finalized an ELF [eyeslipsface.com] order today. This will be my third ELF order. I'm so excited to get it! I placed an order for 30 items and saved $10-$15 with a special coupon code I had.

I also found someone who sold me their Complexion Perfection for only $2.50 since they used it once and wasn't in a box. That should be shipped out today, they said. Yay!

So of course, look for a haul video in a week or two, when I receive my order. I'm so excited! I'll spill one thing -- I even ordered a makeup artist brush belt! I'm supposed to be doing makeup for someone in a local band who is also a friend sometime this month. So I'm pumped! =]

So that's all I really wanted to update with you. Watch for more videos, of course. I'm also excited to say I have 100+ followers on Twitter, 30+ followers on here, and almost 600 subscribers on YouTube! 150+ videos too!

Nail Polish of the Week

Hey guys!

I thought I'd let you in on how I polished my nails this week, instead of doing a tutorial on YouTube.

What I used:

Beauty Secrets Base Coat

Beauty Secrets Top Coat

Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquer in "Sterling"

L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art Deco in "Black"

Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in "Red"

Steps:

So first I applied my Beauty Secrets Base Coat. I let it dry mostly.

Then I applied two coats of Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquer in "Sterling".

After letting those dry, I painted on my Beauty Secrets Top Coat to each finger. Then I applied black french tips with my L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer. Then I drew a red heart on my left hand ring finger with my Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen.

Then I applied a second top coat on all fingers and let it dry fully.

So here's my look:

BEWARE COASTAL SCENTS RIP OFFS!

Hi guys! Thanks for tuning into the blog post!

I just thought I'd take the time to warn you about the terrible Coastal Scents rip offs I've found on various sites -- I'm also sure that there are more out there, but this is what I've come across so far. So read further if you're interested:

Please, if you are planning on making a purchase for Coastal Scents product, do it on coastalscents.com OR Ebay, if you found it to be a better price for the exact same thing. Other than this DON'T DO IT!

Here's why:

Take a look at these couple sites:

http://www.overstock.com/Health-Beauty/Eye-Shadow-and-Blush-Palette/3028617/product.html?sec_iid=33969 [also more on the side to look at]

Both these sites offer MAJOR rip offs of the same exact product from Coastal Scents... other than they may be older and without the Coastal Scents label on the front of the palettes.

Especially on that Yazmo site -- they have the same exact 10 blush palette, 10 concealer palette, 28 neutral palette, 88 color palette [not sure if it's shimmer or matte], and possibly the same 6 contour and blush palette! And at prices like $50 per palette, when you could get it $30 cheaper on the actual site, why do it?

So I hope this blog post was helpful to you in some way, shape, or form! I'm sure glad I wasn't a victim of these rip offs! People are just trying to make profit off of something that isn't even theres -- don't do it & please be careful and wise!

RIP Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, & Ed McMahon

Hello everyone. I would like to take a few minutes and talk about a more subdued subject.

It was a shocking day yesterday to the world as we know it.

The "King of Pop", otherwise known as Michael Jackson, has passed away due to cardiac arrest. An autopsy should be down today to determine exactly why he died.

I'm posting this blog in rememberance. I only knew one song. I was not a die hard fan. But this was a complete shock to me. It was like he was "immortal". The world is in devastation at this loss, and he will always be remembered as the one and only "King of Pop".

What's your favourite make up look?
I'm a HUGE fan of neutral looks. But some not so neutral, like a poppin' gold, bronze, or brown.

Do you have a beauty vice?
Oh my gosh. Brushes. Ask my family -- they still don't understand why I need and want so many brushes, but I just love them. I always find better ones down the line. =P But makeup items -- I love my coastal scents palettes. I feel bad that I'm ignoring my single shadows and such, haha.

What part of your body do you love?
I am a big fan of my eyes. They capture my soul and who I really am. If you look into my eyes closely, you get to see the real me and that I'm more than what I act like or what I wear.

Who is your beauty icon?
Ummmm I really like emilynoel83 on youtube. =]

What beauty product makes you feel instantly sexy?
Sexy? Hmm. I guess darker lip color around the winter holiday season or my L'oreal HiP Cream Eyeliner in "Eggplant" year round.

How do you look after your skin?
I use a Clearasil face treatment in the morning and Olay cleaning soapy wipes at night to remove makeup and clean my face after a hot day or something. [I use both these things daily] I also use Cetaphil moisturizer most of the time. And for my lips -- I swear by Chapstick SPF 15 Moisturizer.

What is your signature scent?
Bath & Body Work's "Warm Vanilla Sugar". It never gets old & it's so delicious! =D

What are your hair care secrets?
Johnson's 24 hr lotion actually works as a good de-frizzer. Thank God... & Kelsey for that tip in one of her videos! ;-P

How do you pamper yourself?
"Spa day" at home. Green facial mask... cucumbers... warm bath... the whole 9 yards. =]

What is your beauty pet peeve?
Creases in eyeshadow [just find a goot base, people!] and too much makeup. It can make you look worse than you look with nothing on. =/

What would your desert island must haves be?
Makeup or beauty wise? Something to keep my skin clean, body wash and such, and waterproof mascara.

Finally, do you have a beauty philosophy?
Have fun with makeup. It's not a chore, it's a hobby and it shouldn't be painful or exhausting. =]

Long time, no post!

Hi guys! I'm so glad I still have followers on here -- I'm so sorry I haven't written in a month! Life has been crazy with finals coming up next week for school, last minute projects, and I got a job! =] I'm starting babysitting June 29th @ 8:30am, bright & early, so wish me luck! =]

Anyway, I can't type much now, because I'm not sure exactly what to talk about. I have 60 followers on Twitter [awesome!] and 19 followers on here [great!]. So thank you guys so much for the support! I also have 350+ subbies on YouTube and almost 100 videos! =D

New Cell Phone!!!

Hey guys! I have super exciting news for ya'll!

My family has been looking into cell phone plans for the past week or so, and we finally were able to afford it! We've been with Verizon Wireless for a little over 2 years now, and our contract expired a few months ago. We obviously had to do something. I suggested Sprint and my sister suggested AT&T. After my dad made a lot of research between the two, AT&T has great deals and savings and BOGO and all that good stuff! So looongggg story short, we went with AT&T. My sister, mom, dad, and myself all got the LG Xenon. This is the one I was set on and they ended up doing the same because it was BOGO. (For anyone who doesn't know what that means, it means buy one get one. I seriously didn't know until tonight. LMAO blonde moment!)

Anyways!!!

The color choices at the AT&T store were blue and red. Very blue. Very red. Cobalt blue and RED. lol

At Best Buy, there was black. But I wanted color this time! Black was getting really dull and boring, ya know?

So I went with blue... then my dad did... then my mom did.... then my sister, who LOVES blue went with red. WTF?! She wanted to be different and really actually liked the red. So yeah, I'm probably going to get tired of looking at mine, my dad's, and mom's sooner than later. But for now, I'm totally satisfied and confident knowing we saved loads and tons of moo-la in this cruddy economy.

Update: Key Club Convention & My Very First Contest!!! =D

Hey everyone! How are you today? I hope everything is well.

So this blog update is all about what I did last weekend at the New England Key Club Convention.

And oh... MY VERY FIRST CONTEST ON YOUTUBE!!! ^_^ (well, on my makeup account)

So yeah, just thought you'd appreciate a few pictures. It was a fun time. We got there around 1pm on Friday afternoon, had to wait a couple hours for our room, and were up until 12:30AM. haha Then we were up 7:30AM and up until midnight! =P It was hectic, and took all week to get back on a good sleeping pattern and such, but I'm fully rested now, from Good Friday and such, and don't regret going one bit. I overcame something personal that has been hard for me over the past few years, and it was so worth it! =)

Quick Update!

Hey guys!
So the end of the day bell just rang her at the lovely world of high school.
I am doing a quick blog to update you guys here because I know it's safe -- I'm really scared to go on my computer for a couple days because of this stupid virus thing.

Haul: Big Lots & Walmart!

Hey everybody! Hope all is well!

I just finished recording my latest haul video.. it's half way done uploading now.

I went to Big Lots and Walmart yesterday... I actually wasn't that impressed with Big Lots this time... but still managed to get 4 things... haha. =)

2 things from Walmart.

So here they are: (sorry for not posting pics in a while)

Almay Massage & Grow Nail & Cuticle Wax: $1.50

This stuff is so creamy and nice. I like it. =)
Diamond Cosmetics Eyeshadow Brush: $1.00

I like this brush -- it's nice and soft. It's a little thinner than ELF's eyeshadow brushes, but I'm confident it'll work. It also doesn't shed -- yay! ;-P
Revlon Makeup Eraser Pen: $2.50

So worth it! This took off a swatch on my hand that usually can't come off for a couple days! =D
Studio Basics Petite Face Brush: $1.00

I love that almost all the brushes at Big Lots are about a dollar or half... this is a really cute "Baby Buki" brush and should be good for buffing on mineral makeup. It also barely sheds. Clean before usage... it gets really soft! =)
Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm: $2.97

I've been wanting to try this stuff forever! It's so cooling and minty... mmm. =)

Carmex Lip Balm: $1.04

This stuff smells like Cabbage Patch Kids/Baby Powder. Brings back good memories and I can't wait to use this before lipstick/gloss! Everyone says it's great! =D

Hey everyone, how are you today?

So I looked on my iPod Touch and it's supposed to be "abundant sunshine" today... as stated by the weather channel. Haha, I guess "very sunny" is too childish for them now. =P

So anyway! I'm working on posting about 3 videos today! Look for a random video, neutral eye tutorial, and a haul... yes ANOTHER haul. And in this one I am SO happy because I include two items I have wanted for quite some time... just watch the video and listen. I'm pretty stoked. Haha.

So that's pretty much it for now... while my videos are uploading I'm going to Walmart to print about 40 pictures for a scrapbook of my high school experience I'm working on. I have to admit, it's pretty awesome. =P
Other than that, I'm not sure what else this weekend will bring. Oh yeah, I wasn't able to get Taylor Swift tickets yesterday or at the presale this past Tuesday. Instead, greedy people have to jack up the prices on Ebay. That makes me so mad. >:(

Oh well, maybe a miracle will happen.

So yeah, I hope to post again sooner than I have been. I also want to thank my 4 followers on this blog, and my 17 followers on my Twitter account! How cool is that?

My first MAC item! =D

Hey everyone!

I am SUPER excited to inform you that I have FINALLY purchased a MAC product! I finally lost my MAC virginty... and boy, I couldn't be happier! *humor people, don't take that into too much consideration*

So yeah, it's only one item. But so what? I'll still never turn into one of those people who live, eat, drink & sleep MAC. *No offense to my fans* It's just, I can't afford it all the time. So I'm glad to find alternatives. But sometimes, you have to spoil yourself a little. So I finally did.

My sister and I begged my mom to take us to the mall yesterday after school, and when I found a MAC counter in Macy's, all I did was circle it and look at everything over and over again. I could tell me sister was getting bored. lol (She's not into makeup like I am)

Anyway, here it is. I finally ended up getting the Hello Kitty (eeekkk! yay! =D) Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15 in "Pink Fish". This is the wild collection... my personal opinion says that the mild and wild collections should be totally swaped. The quads and lip tints are totally opposite. Has anyone else noticed that? lol

Anyway! Here's a few pics... I'm so happy! Not to mention is smells de-lish, is a really pretty color, and actually works!

By the way, it was $14.50. I couldn't really get anything higher. lol But I'm thrilled! =D

How to De-pot L.A. Colors Shimmering Loose Eyeshadow Pigments

Hey guys!
Again... I am so sorry that I haven't posted in quite a while again!

I am just so so busy, with testing in school, and such. But here's a quick post on how to depot L.A. Colors Shimmering Eyeshadow Pots!

What You'll Need:

L.A. Colors Shimmering Loose Eyeshadow Pigments

Empty, clean jars

Screwdriver

Your hands & fingers (lol)

& Paper towels to clean up

Steps:

1) I feel like I'm writing a lab report in bio. lol

2) Get all materials. (uggh)

3) Put the eyeshadow pot over the empty, clean jar.

4) Open the eyeshadow pot and take the bad brush out.

5) Push the screwdriver through the hole until the bottom falls out. (Be careful!)

6) If the bottom falls out into the eyeshadow & jar, carefully take it out with your hands, or a tool you prefer.

7) Scrape out all the eyeshadow into the jar.

8) Close the jar & clean your hands and the counter, or wherever you de-potted your eyeshadows.

So that's it! I hope this helped you, as it helped me! Enjoy your new de-potted eyeshadows! Be glad that it won't go to waste and it's a better buy for your buck! Try saying that 5 times fast! =P

Updates!

Hey guys!

So sorry I haven't written in over a week... last week was tough. I had the flu a few weeks back, and was out 6 school days. Then winter vacation came around, and after that, I was left with last week. Last week I has 3 quizzes, 2 tests, 1 lab report, and much more homework to make up. I was spending every night getting home from school/making up quizzes or something after school/doing homework/dinner/doing homework/shower/doing homework/bed. The only thing I seemed to do for fun was make a video each night and upload it the next night. So yeah, please forgive me.

Anyway! I've uploaded TONS of videos in the past week. I have 7 parts of my makeup collection up, and it led up to the grand finale of my whole makeup studio and collection altogether, so please check that out!

I also uploaded a browns/neutral tutorial yesterday that was requested a lot. I'm recording another tutorial sometime today, along with another video. (It'll probably be on comparisons from ELF vs. MAC and such.)

I also recorded 6 videos yesterday, (I was bored! =P) So most or all of those should be uploaded today. (My computer is slow and annoying and freezes all the time)

So yeah.... it's also a snow day today! It came as a bit of a surprise, but I knew we were going to get one yesterday. Schools were already closing late last night!
So it's a nice surprise and a nice way to relax after a bad, long, stressful week... did I tell you I lost my $165 brown Northface jacket Friday in school? Yeah. Cried. It was so special to me... especially since my parents got it for me for Christmas AND at 40% off. ='(

Mall Haul!

Hey guys!
So it's a little past 9pm again... (I tend to post at night because I'm spending all day uploading and recording and editing my videos...) and I'm here to update about my "Mall Haul"!

So yesterday I went to a local mall (...okay, so it's 45 minutes away...) did I mention it's the best?

It has EVERYTHING needed for beauty, makeup, and body products galoreee!

Sephora, MAC, Victoria's Secret, PINK by Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works, Bare Escentuals, L'oreal Paris (brand new!!), Hot Topic, Claire's, Icing by Claire's, awesome!!

So here's some pics to sum up what I got... enjoy! =) (As always descriptions, reviews, and prices below! =P)

C.O. Bigelow "Tea Tree & Eucalyptus" Body Cleanser #1515 - $12 ($12 - I got free with coupon)

"Butterfly Flower"2oz. Body Lotion - $1 (temperarily)

I haven't used the body wash yet because I have so many that I'm trying to get through first -- I get way too many free ones with coupons. =P

The Butterfly Flower series is coming out completely next month, so if you want this adorable lotion before then for so cheap, (only $1!) get it now! (Originally Z$3.50!)

My sister and I popped into Build-a-Bear Workshop before leaving the mall to donate $1 each to a charirty -- we received this in doing so. It's just a free song download by David Archuleta. =)
C.O. Bigelow "My Favorite Lip Balm" #303 - $5.50

Liplicious Tasty Lip Color "Dipped Strawberry" - $5

PINK Victoria's Secret "Peace" - $3

The C.O. Bigelow is delicious and moisturizes nicely, the liplicious is yummy strawberry with a hint of chocolate, and the PINK one is actually just clear gloss with a gross taste.

All on sale though. =)

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eyeshadow Base - $15

I haven't tried this yet -- waiting until Monday when I have gym in school and a workout after school. We'll see if it stays as good as Urban Decay -- I'm hoping so, because it's in jar and it's more for the buck -- plus it's a couple bucks less.

Hot Topic Duo Eyeshadow - $4

This is VERY comparable to MAC's Duo Mineralize Eyeshadows... they're $19, these were $4. I got the last one in this style, like MAC's, and it's actually .10oz versus .07oz for MAC. You decide. =) *Best buy of the day! I almost didn't go in there too! =D*
L'oreal Paris HiP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner #960 "Eggplant" - $12

So I went in the brand new L'oreal Paris store and it's AWESOME!

I just HAD to finally get something in the HiP collection, and this just struck my fancy!

Then I got home and realized I had an "eggplant" color cream eyeliner in my Ready to Wear collection... oops. Oh well, it's a little different, and really nice. =)

P.S. Sorry it's sideways. Forgot to flip it! lol You get it though, right? =P
Claire's Cosmetics 10 Eyeshadow Palette - COLORFUL! - $6

So I got this to tide me over while I wait to get some Coastal Scents stuff... hopefully for my birthday... in August. So yeah, it has really nice, vibrant, pigmented colors that last a while, and I don't have.

So $6? Sold!

Alright, so I'm going to finish a few things and get going.
Tomorrow's my last day of vacaiton -- *sigh*. I don't feel like going back to school -- not yet. Ask me in 2 weeks. lol

Dollar Tree Haul & My First Makeup Contest Entry!

Hi everyone! How are you?

So it's about 9:45pm here... I just wanted to make sure to update my blog with my latest haul from Dollar Tree!

I went to two... yes TWO... Dollar Trees yesterday with my mom and had a blast! The weather, however, had different plans for us. It was a slippery, slushy mess, and by the time we got home and tried to drive up the driveway, we couldn't. My dad had to come down and drive around the block and turn around and all that jazz.

We made it home safe though, so that's good.

Anyway! Here are some pictures and descriptions/short reviews of the items I got! Enjoy! =)

Revlon Make a Sheen # 875 "Show Stopper Copper"

Blend all three colors together with your eyeshadow brush and it comes out beautifully. Or use the middle color on whole lid, lightest color up to brow bone, and darkest color in crease. =) Very comparable to MAC Mineralize Duo Eyeshadow in Heat/Element. $3 versus $19 - you choose. ;)

I've swatched these on my hands many times, testing, taping for a video review, and more. These are really vibrant, nice colors. The white is less shiny and sparkly-ish than the one in my last block, but the one in my last blog sticks more. So if I had to choose, I'd rather have the other one as it stayed on my hand even after my shower! (partly) The "bone" color is a nice golden-brown, which I LOVE! The surf color is a greenish-blueish color. Teal. Really love this one! I don't have anything like it, and it makes me eyes pop as an eye liner on my top lid only. $1 each at Dollar Tree! What abargain! =D
L.A. Colors All-N-One Lipstick, Blush, & Eyeshadow Pencil in "Pink Satin"

I've only used this a couple times so far, (what? I just got it yesterday! lol) and it's nice. I have eyed this so many times before and figured, this is my Dollar Tree Haul. Might as well get it, right? lol So watch my video for a few tricks with the blush... and I'll probably use this most for a lipstick, and maybe eyeliner. Cool. $1 @ Dollar Tree.
I also have this in "Snow White".

L.A. Colors Shimmering Loose Eyeshadow w/ Brush in "Radiant" "BES404"

$1 at Dollar Tree... everything's a dollar there, for real, if you didn't catch onto that already. Hehe.

I LOVE browns and golden browns, so this is comparable to MAC's pigments... get a few of these, and you've beat the price & have more than you would have got at MAC. Ahh, how I love a great bargain. =)
L.A. Colors Bronzer in "Bronze Glow" "BSB334"

I actually didn't have a bronzer... and I was thinking of getting one on ELF... but I decided to get this one instead. A little darker than shown in the picture, but I just blend it lightly, and it looks really nice. Once again... $1. Yay.
Donna Michelle Makeup Foundation Hydrating Series "Light 1"

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fair skin tone. I'm light. But the light #2 in this series looked more like medium... jeez. I wonder what the darkest looked like... Anyways... it's nice and blends to my skin. I didn't actually have a good liquid foundation, so I figured, it's a dollar. Can't go wrong. =)

Ocean State Job Lot Makeup Haul!

Just wanted to post a quick blog about my recent "Ocean State Job Lot Makeup Haul"!

My mom suprised me and took me out to the local Ocean State Job Lot... and bought me about $15 worth of stuff -- total savings! They're even comparable to products from NYX, NARS, and CoverGirl! =) Read on!

Revlon Golden Affair #425 "Berry Darling"

I compare this blush to the NARS blush in "Super Orgasm" at Sephora. It's similar with the gold glitter, and is a little lighter than shown here. This was $3, versus $25. (NARS)

Revlon Make a Sheen #870 "Plum Like it Hot"

This is similar to some MAC Mineralize DUO Eyeshadow... they have a brown tones one that's similar to the "Heat/Element" one. I should have gotten that too... lol

Nice purple and a really cool gold. For $3, this one's a keeper.

Almay Intense i-color Volumizing Mascara #01 "Purple Amethyst"

A very nice deep purple... love this product! It doesn't clump and actually lifts lashes without an eyelash curler! I'm not lieing! =) My new fav! =D I believe this product was $3.
CoverGirl Shadow Squeeze in "Cocoa" and "Lagoon"

These squeeze shadows are very comparable to the Urban Decay ones that actually just came out. These are discontinued, like everything else here, but at discount prices, $3 is better than $17. (Urban Decay)
Maybelline New York Unstoppable Eyeshadow Pencil "Lasting Lace"

This was only $1.50! You can't beat this! Now I went all around town Sunday looking for NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk" and had NO luck whatsoever. So I thought to myself, I'm going to the mall this week. I'll get the $5 Sephora Brand Jumbo Pencil. Then I found this. I'm so thrilled with this, it's a great eyeshadow base, an added eyeshadow base, or alone. There are several colors, so you can even use this alone.
Sally Hansen Firming Powder (Radiant Lift Loose Powder) "Natural Beige"

Get ready -- this was only $2!!! This is a mineral powder... my Covergirl Trublend Mineral powder that I bought at Walmart was about $8! That's 75% off, at an original price!

You can't beat this!!!

It's a mineral powder like any other -- and best thing is that it fits my skin tone better. Awesome buy, awesome product! Definitely recommend! =)
